More about Capoeira4Refugees
The mission of Capoeira4Refugees is to use the unique artform of capoeira as a psychosocial tool to create safe spaces for vulnerable young people living through war and in conflict zones to recover from trauma and create positive change in their own communities. The children we work with have undergone unimaginable trauma: escaping war zones, seeing family members killed, and often living in tents or temporary shelter. They need security, stability, and the chance to engage in playful activities to be children again. Capoeira positively helps vulnerable youth deal with war and the resultant psychosocial issues that are impacting their daily lives by allowing children to channel anger and frustration in a safe and healthy way.
