More about Building Young Women Leadership through Sport
By integrating sport and life skills, Building Young Women Leadership through Sport project has added more values on sport and contributed a lot for the development of project girl’s leadership skills. The project has provided an opportunity for young girls to learn how to deal with personal developments and empowerment and to cope with both winning and losing principles in leadership.
The project gave the girls the chance to learn to be a part of a team, to cope up with any situation, confront any hurdle with a positive approach and also fosters the enthusiasm and good leadership qualities.
Particularly the project has built the both formal and informal leadership capacity of participant’s girls through broadening the horizons of every participant to think beyond the society norms values, and gender stereotypes. It also has created a safe and neutral space for girls to discuss the challenges, and risks in connection with sexual activity, pregnancy, HIV/AIDs and risk of sexual violence.
They have getting sense of motivation by role modelling their coaches, and community facilitators of the project. They have also benefited from the mentorship and counseling of the coaches
