Rugby League is significant to Indigenous Australians as it provides a level playing field and is one of the only areas of Australian society where race is not a disadvantage. The NRL uses the power of sport and the NRL brand to engage with Indigenous young people to assist them to identify their aspirations and support them to achieve their goals, in particular in education and employment while developing young community leaders.
