More about BOKS: Closing the Fitness Gap
At BOKS, we are hyper-focused on closing the health and fitness inequality gap. Today, our health and wellness has a direct correlation to our socioeconomic status meaning your zip code defines your health, happiness, and even life expectancy. The expanding gap we are witnessing is a result of the rich are getting fitter while low income communities are becoming less and less healthy. This gap has staggering implications - in Boston a child that grows up in a low income community is set up to live 33 years less than a child in a high income community. If we don't take action, the gap will continue to grow and chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart disease and depression will continue to plague future generations.
