More about Arsenal Positive Futures
There are two strands to Arsenal Positive Futures; an estates based programme and an arm that has developed initiatives with a wide range of groups such as Pupil Referral Units, Youth Offending Service, Youth Inclusion Programme, Priority and Prolific Offender Scheme and of course our own Arsenal Sport & Learning and Arsenal Entry 2 Employment (e2e) programmes.
The project aims to engage young people in a range of sporting and educational activities. By providing a safe and familiar environment where participants feel comfortable, it is hoped that the project will become a consistent and important part of a participant’s routine.
A wide range of activities are used to engage with Islington's young people. Football is an obvious route but Arsenal understands that there is a need to offer other activities to both maintain the interest of participants and to cater for those that are not switched on by football. Rock climbing, kayaking, DJ workshops, athletics, badminton, volleyball, hockey, IT, poetry, photography and residential trips are among the activities that the project has offered participants but the main focus is, where possible, to move beyond sport and support young people in other areas of their lives.
