More about All Girls Deserve a Chance
The All Girls Deserve a Chance in sports project utilises sports a social communication tool where girls have been able to access free information and training on HIV/AIDS, Teen Pregnancies and early marriages. Girls meet during weekends and evenings to participate in sports activities trainings. During these meetings girls are educated about the challenges they face as mentioned above, trainers are either trained peer educators or professional trained counselors.
Further, the program also has trained community outreach counselors who find these girls in their homes and they further discuss sexual reproductive issues with their parents or guardians in the case of orphaned children. The sports activities, helps the girls from engaging in risky behaviors and coupling with bad peer groups. Through the program, the girls receive free information on HIV/AIDS.
