More about Alive and Kicking Up-cycling Programme
The Alive and Kicking up-cycling programme uses sports balls to bridge the gap between large scale industry and local disadvantaged communities across Sub-Saharan Africa - with innovation at its core.
Using leather waste A+K is able to turn leather - that would typically be incinerated or buried a by-product of industrialisation - into beautiful footballs enabling children to play, to create jobs and too teach children health education.
Working towards no. 9 of the SDG's A+K is playing a key role in promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialisation. As well as blazing the trail for small scale enterprises to have a positive impact on domestic technology development, research and innovation through industrial diversification.
