More about AIDS Life/Cycle
AIDS Life/Cycle’s mission is to raise funds to support HIV/AIDS-related services and prevention programs at San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Los Angeles LGBT Center, increase knowledge and awareness about AIDS, increase volunteerism and activism around the epidemic and promote understanding and compassion for HIV-affected communities. Nearly 2,500 riders and 600 volunteer roadies together with generous sponsors helped to raise $15 million from 80,000 donors in 2014.
Participants include advocates, health care professionals and providers, corporations, foundations and a significant number of people living with HIV/AIDS who have a direct impact on the success of this major fundraising event through their collective contributions and who also benefit from direct care and prevention services. The riders and volunteer roadies of AIDS/LifeCycle form a diverse, friendly community where everyone is welcome and everyone belongs—regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnic background. Riders start at all levels of fitness, and regular training rides help them get ready to ride. AIDS Life/Cycle encourages a healthy active lifestyle for all participants.
