More about Adapt It
We recognise that human development goals will not be reached without addressing the rights of ALL people. Persons living with disabilities are a particularly vulnerable group whose rights are consistently neglected and whose voices frequently ignored. In Mali, youth with disabilities are often locked in their homes, denied access to health care, education, employment opportunities and social outlets.
CFH has realised the power that football can have in helping disabled people assert their rights and have their voices heard. "Adapt it" is a unique training, development and support programme that aims to address discrimination of people with disabilities both at a personal development level and a community outreach leve. The CFH training offers practical solutions and support to football coaches to include people with disabilities in their sessions.
CFH then goes beyond training by supporting coaches and partners in the disabled community to break stigmas through regular events, tournaments and a groundbreaking high profile "Inclusion League". This programme enables disabled people in Mali to address discrimination, challenge social stigma and promote their own health and well-being with dignity in an otherwise hostile environment
