More about ACAKORO Football
Korogocho is a truly desperate place to live. It’s among the largest slums in Kenya, where thousands of people live in. Social problems, ill health, alcoholism, crime and defiling the young are evident wherever you look. Infrastructure is poor but it’s now improving and amenities are lacking. Every day, people are needlessly because of disease, drugs, crime, domestic violence and poverty, yet life goes on. The people of Korogocho make the most of what they have. It’s a terrible mistaken to belief that places like Korogocho lack talent and creativity. ACAKORO Football Academy came to the rescue in 2013 to give hope of a brighter future to the people of Korogocho by establishing a community sports program to accommodate the needy and poor children of Korogocho.
ACAKORO football have always been aware that sport is a good social worker, it can provide young people with a positive outlet and teach them valuable life skills, sport as an intervention to tackle social problems could reduce the risk of a young person being affected by critical social problems and could change a whole society in a positive and sustainable way!
