More about “Sport in Post-Disaster Intervention”
Sport in Post-Disaster Intervention is an innovative approach to use physical activity as a relief tool in the early stages of natural and man-made disasters. In the rehabilitative process of physiologically and psychologically traumatised people, physical activity has the potential to play a valuable role. Designed to provide relief workers with knowledge and skills on how to include physical activity, sport and movement into post-disaster intervention efforts, the training provided by ICSSPE includes multi-disciplinary sessions with hands-on practical workshops and theoretical applications.
The training brings together international relief workers from diverse professional disciplines and offers a unique experience on how to incorporate physical activity into relief work. Over the past two years more than 140 professionals from over 30 countries have been trained .
