As a male-dominated country where machismo and homophobia prevail in society and sport, DIDESEX was born to fight discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and promote a safe space for the LGBTIQ community to practice sport.

We aim to ensure the continuous promotion and defence of human rights through sport and promote sport as a meansof to further activism, advocacy and equality, and together work with state agencies, private and civil organisations.

We work as a platform to help develop and bring together sports leaders from across Latin America to promote the visibility and recognition of LGBTIQ sport in the region. We promote sport as a tool to address problems around equality, homophobic hate crime, stigma and discrimination, gender-based violence and reproductive rights.
