More about “Cops Helping Kids”
The Police Athletic League of Philadelphia uses sport to provide children from disadvantaged areas in Philadelphia with the essential tools they need to better their circumstances. PAL provides its underserved constituency with free educational, athletic, recreational, cultural and mentoring experiences they most likely wouldn’t be able to take part in otherwise. Much of inner-city Philadelphia is riddled with high rates of crime, violence, drug abuse, and school dropouts. Children and teens in the inner-city need to be provided with the necessary encouragement to change their communities for the future. PAL focuses on helping the younger generations to succeed while also increasing the quality of life in Philadelphia in order to fulfill its mission of “Cops Helping Kids.”
