On June 11 in New York, Beyond Sport will hold its first-ever Stay in the Game Forum, a convening of sport, healthcare and social change leaders to explore sport’s potential as a platform and a catalyst to promote mental wellness.
With the 2019 Mental Health America report shining an important light on the national state of mental wellness – over 40 million Americans are dealing with mental health concerns – it’s clear that progressive solutions to a complex societal issue are needed more than ever.
We believe that sport provides a real opportunity here. With its influence and reach, paired with increasingly vocal athlete advocates, a collaborative sports-based approach can help change the national conversation to one of hope, prevention and healing – and provide support for those who are struggling.
Held in partnership with the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, Centerstone, the Citrone 33 Foundation, USA Cycling and Beyond Sport’s Founding Supporters – MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, WNBA – Stay in the Game will examine existing approaches and identify ways for the sectors to work together to promote mental wellness.
Attendees will take part in an interactive program curated to provide inspiration and insider perspectives from sport teams, professional athletes, healthcare experts, social program leaders and suicide prevention experts. We will also launch the new ‘Stay in the Game Network’ to drive year-round collaboration.
The Stay in the Game Forum is by invitation only. Register your interest below to learn more.
