A film documenting the work of L.A.C.E.S showing how sports is more than a game premiered last month. Over 100 people attended the premier in Washington D.C. including the number one goalkeeper in Major League Soccer, Bill Hamid. At the premier, Bill Hamid joined L.A.C.E.S founder, Seren Fryatt for a post-film discussion on the powerful role sports has played in their lives and in society.
The film, The Power of Play, will let the viewer be part of the construction of a better future for Liberian children post civil-war. Liberia's civil war became one of the most notorious conflicts for its use and abuse of child soldiers. Over 15,000 children as young as 6 ought in the war, and were forced to commit some of the most heinous crimes.
L.A.C.E.S develop positive role models in communities in a manner that is fun and challenging through establishing sports leagues as an avenue for teaching children morals and values.
