Mifalot Chinuch was founded as Hapoel Tel Aviv FC’s social responsibility project in 1997. Its vision is to fully utilize the potential and power of football in order to build more active, compassionate and cohesive communities and support the sustainable development of a more open, just, and engaged society.
With the escalation of the conflict in the region, as well as increasing tensions in both Israel and Palestine, Mifalot have been working closely with people with mental health problems in conflict zones across the region. Mifalot staff are working to reduce stress and trauma in housing shelters in Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beer Sheva through engaging members of these communities in fun activities involving sport.
Mifalot have also organized football tournaments and interactive games between Arab and Jewish kids of Mifalot teams in the north of the country. The tournament proved to be a huge success, promoting goodwill between various communities across the region.
Mifalot’s aim is to create a tolerant and supporting society through sport and the organisation is doing all it can to achieve this vision.
Hapoel Tel Aviv won Sports Team of the Year in our 2010 Beyond Sport Awards for the work they have been doing in the region through the Mifalot programme
