Louis Faith, Beyond Sport Young Ambassador becomes ‘Part of the Solution’
Louis has joined the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Youth Commission board and has become ‘part of the solution’
In 2012, Beyond Sport set out to give young people a formal place in the movement of sport and social change – a place where they can advise, participate, and benefit from Beyond Sport’s major global gatherings and year-round by meeting each other and exchanging ideas, challenges and opinions about social issues. These are all young people that have faced adversity but due to love of sport, they have all come through to become incredible young leaders. All of this is an effort to further development these young people’s careers and create a platform for them to further develop using the power of sport.
Louis Faith of Pompey in the Community was selected to join our Young Ambassador programme in 2012. Louis was nominated for the Beyond Sport, Generation Ali Award, met sporting icons David Beckham and Muhammad Ali and joined us at Beyond Sport United 2012 in New York City.
We’re delighted to hear that Louis has joined the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Youth Commission board and has become ‘part of the solution’.
Through The Big Conversation, which was held by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Youth Commission, Louis expressed a wish to be seen as part of the solution to crime and anti-social behaviour in their communities, instead of being seen as the problem.
The Be Part of the Solution campaign throws a spotlight on the great contribution that young people make in their local community, to improve their own relationships or the quality of life of their family or friends, or pledge to make a change to be part of the solution going forward.
Through the positive actions, decisions and choices we make every day, each of us has the opportunity to improve our lives, relationships and make our local community a better place to live.
Talking about the Youth Commission, Louis said: “I joined the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s Youth Commission board and have agreed to ‘be part of the solution’ not only to be a part of something big within my city but to make sure that its being done the way young people want, being said the way they understand and to turn words into actions”
It’s amazing to see the progression our Young Ambassadors are making – we wish Louis all the best going forward.
