Global football website, Goal will live stream the Street Child World Cup: The Future Depends On You Moscow 2018 – an international football tournament hosted in Moscow and focused on changing the negative perception and treatment of street-connected children. The tournament kicked off on Friday, May 11th.
By drawing a global audience to their events, Street Child United (SCU) allows the children and charities that take part to campaign to governments, high-level organisations and their communities to change the way street-connected young people are seen and treated.
The event, which has been organised by SCU in partnership with Russian telecommunications company Megafon and in association with Save the Children, will feature two hundred street-connected young people from 21 countries across the world and will contribute to an international football tournament, a festival of arts and a Congress for their rights.
Goal will stream the competition through Facebook, where it has in excess of 40m fans. The highlight of the tournament with be the boys’ and girls’ finals which will be played at the Russian Premier League champion’s, FC Lokomotiv Moscow’s, Sapsan Arena. As well as covering finals, Goal will stream the opening ceremony and a friendly match between the girl’s teams from Russia and Brazil, before moving on to the knockout stages of the tournament and sharing highlights from the opening rounds.

Goal will return to Russia after Street Child World Cup: The Future Depends On You Moscow 2018, when it covers the FIFA World Cup. During the tournament, 23 members of staff will be in Russia, with correspondents in each host city and local teams back home providing extensive coverage.
Street Child United (SCU) is a UK charity using the power of sport, specifically international sports events, to change the negative perceptions and treatment of street-connected children everywhere.
