If you are a charity/nonprofit in need of tools to help augment your fundraising, please read on for free technology from longstanding Beyond Sport Global Awards Business Support Package Partner, GivenGain.
GivenGain, the leading global fundraising platform for charity, recently opened up access to all its Premium fundraising advantages to all charities. With the elimination of the usage fee, charities now have access to advanced analytics, unlimited fundraising campaigns and unlimited users – completely free of charge.
And, this month, the non-profit foundation debuted livestream tools to further spur donations for good causes. It hopes that gamers, musicians and anyone with a livestream, will do it for good.
Marius Maré, GivenGain President, said: “With our live stream widgets we’re not just connecting streaming and fundraising, we’re helping to level the playing field between large and small non-profits. Any charity or fundraiser can use our technology free of charge, connecting them with a socially aware new generation of millennial charity supporters."
"This works particularly well because of the social component of online fundraising. Where it gets clever is that gamers, youtubers of all kinds – and in the future, marathon runners with GoPros – can plug fundraising into their live streams going out via Twitch, YouTube and various other platforms," he added.
Streaming platform Twitch estimates that between 2012 and 2017, more than $75m was raised for various charities on its service.
Since 2001, GivenGain has assisted donors and fundraisers in 194 countries to assist charities in 70 countries. The platform enables public events like running and cycling races and their participants to fundraise together for charities of their choice.
“With massive global fundraising events like GivingTuesday, interspersed with calamities like the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw a growing need for uncomplicated fundraising to boost charity incomes, and decided to open up to all recognised charities anywhere who register with us,” said Marc Freudweiler, Executive Director of the GivenGain Foundation.
One live streamer in particular, Grant Hinds, recently live-streamed a game-playing marathon of 12 hours on his birthday, raising $2,300 for small charity New Hope SA Homeless Shelter via GivenGain.
GivenGain enables online cross-border donations and fundraising for and on behalf of charities – anywhere in the world, in multiple currencies. They have enabled members of the Beyond Sport Global Awards Shortlist to launch dozens of successful fundraising campaigns over the years. 2019 Beyond Sport Global Awards Shortlisters, Qhubeka, were able to raise over $200,000 on the platform.
