Activity Alliance’s STEP Program Shares Tips For Inclusive At Home Workouts
May 1, 2020
This week, the UK charity, Activity Alliance, released its STEP program, a resource for disabled people, organisations and providers to access new social media graphics and tips available via the STEP tool. The program shows new ways to adapt activities so that more people can work out while staying in.
STEP, which stands for Space, Task, Equipment and People, is one of the most effective ways to use household items to be active.
While people around the world are distancing from others, many are finding new ways to enjoy being active in or near home. The STEP Program was launched to adddress isolation and to support those who feel less active during this time.
“There are many ways to continue enjoying an active lifestyle,” Activity Alliance said in a statement. “This includes adapting activities so everyone in the household, disabled and non-disabled, can take part together. With a few simple tweaks, activities can quickly become a part of everyone’s daily routine.”
