More about TeamPages
TeamPages is a kid-friendly online community dedicated to youth sports. In Canada, a recent survey shows that youth sport participation is declining, due partly to high costs and time constraints on the part of athletes' parents. Our objective is to make youth sports participation more accessible by providing busy parents, athletes and coaches with the tools that they need to manage teams effectively and efficiently. Users can post schedules, arrange carpool rides, share photos and videos, and even notify parents and athletes by text message if a game is cancelled, all at the click of a button.
Ultimately, we know that spending less time and money on administrative tasks means having more time to focus on having fun. At TeamPages, we are harnessing the popularity of social networking amongst youth and applying it to amateur sports. We know that engaging children in sports activities not only carries health benefits, but also teaches them important lessons about fair play, self-confidence, and team-building.
By creating a positive online community for youth, parents, and coaches to connect with one another over sports, we hope to foster greater interest in amateur sports and to counteract the declining youth sport participation numbers in Canada.
