More about Street Elite
Street Elite is delivered in deprived areas of London where the rates of youth unemployment are high. We use simple, inexpensive ‘street’ versions of football, cricket and rugby that break down economic and social barriers to appeal to our young people. Through learning and coaching these sports, key transferrable skills can be achieved along with valuable life lessons. All of this contributes to keeping young people off the streets, reducing the crime and re-offending rates both within the groups of young people we deliver to and their communities.
Through a high intensity training period, the Street Elite are equipped with the skills to deliver sports sessions on housing estates that are local to them. This enables them to give back to their local community and act as role models to young people that may have previously associated them with negative activity in the area.
