The Smile Foundation is a South African NGO that assists children with any type of facial abnormality, to receive corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery within South Africa. There have been in excess of 50 athletes who have joined the cause by participating in Ironman SA for the benefit of the Smile Foundation SA.
Ironman is a highly demanding challenge which consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a 42km marathon all completed in 1 day by 1 athlete. This challenge is not for the fainthearted but for the gutsy, fiery heroes who are making a massive difference to children’s lives in South Africa.
