More about Scoring Through Education
The Chicago Fire is able to use sport as a tool to help tackle the issue of education by rewarding children for achieving their goals. The team provides the community with quality role models that children are able to look up to. By watching the players in action, children see first-hand the impact of working hard and setting goals to achieve your dreams. Also, through our “Scoring Through Education” program, the Fire is able to motivate and provide children with the materials needed to achieve educational success. “Scoring Through Education” is a free, incentive program open to all children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. This program provides unique tactics that teachers can use to help enhance their classroom activities.
“Scoring Through Education” is easy to adapt for each classroom as it allows teachers to set goals that are in line with curriculums they already teach their students. The format of the program is designed to be implemented across all areas of a child’s education, including by not limited to: reading, math, science, geography, and physical education. By using the supplemental materials (see attachments) provided by the Fire, teachers can enhance a wide variety of lessons.
